Aspiration & Leadership Camp
Every year, we organised a 3 days camp for girls aged between 15-18 years old with themes centered on aspiration and capacity building. Over the 3 days, we conduct life skills workshops such as: Building Confidence, Goal Setting and Positive Thinking, Effective Communication, Financial Literacy, and Sex Education. We also provide Teambuilding activities and outdoor activities designed to encourage participants to challenge themselves mentally and physically as part of the programme.
Sponsored by Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad, the camp focuses on delivering tips and tools to enable girls to become strong and confident young women. Li Na Yong and Erin Sineng, our Camp Coordinators, recruit dedicated volunteers and invite speakers with backgrounds in law, politics, business, medicine, nursing, law enforcement, engineering, education, art, writing, and personal training to share their work experience and hopefully, inspire some of the girls to follow their steps. Each participant has the opportunity to speak to the industry experts personally, in order for them to gain insight into career paths once they leave school.
To inspire and empower young women, we invite former participants to return as Assistant Facilitators. This allows former participants to develop their skills as mentors and future leaders in their communities. Selected participants from the camp this year will be invited back to be mentors and volunteers at the camp next year.
